Yes, definitely. Many women, including solo travelers, visit Kyrgyzstan and enjoy our tours each year. The country’s culture is a bit conservative, but also respectful toward guests. As a woman, we recommend you dress modestly (e.g., avoid revealing or tight clothing), especially in rural areas, out of cultural respect for local people.
Solo female travelers may enjoy joining one of our group tours so that they are traveling with other travelers. These group tours provide a comfortable environment, and our guides and staff are attentive and professional towards the needs of solo female travelers. You can also choose to book a private tour if you want more private accommodation and transport.
In the evenings during the tour, you’ll usually be in family-run guesthouses or yurt camps where local women are often the hosts. We’ve had many solo female clients who not only felt secure in these environments, but formed great connections with local women.
If you have any specific concerns about traveling in Kyrgyzstan as a solo female traveler, we’re happy to answer them.
