Yes, the Kyrgyz–Tajik border is open for travelers and you can cross overland via the high-altitude Kyzyl-Art Pass (4,280 meters / 14,000 feet) on the Pamir Highway or M41 Highway. Although border had been closed for some time, as of 2025 it has officially reopened for international visitors going both directions (Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan and Tajikistan to Kyrgyzstan).

Drivers on our Pamir Highway Tours have extensive experience with Kyrgyz and Tajik border crossings and we handle all the logistics so that your border crossing is easy and hassle-free. Just be sure to have your visas and required GBAO permits ready to show the border guards.
